With the overabundance of Wolf bands out there, few seem to lead the pack. San Francisco’s Fuckwolf are indeed an exception. Their gritty, spaced-out reverb-laden dub interprets King Tubby’s legacy with a healthy dose of dirge-deranged noise. Weasel Walter, of Flying Luttenbachers and Lake of Dracula, produced their new self titled album on Kimosciotic Records.

Walter played with Fuckwolf members Eric Park and Simon Phillips in Curse of the Birthmark . Another one of my Bay Area favorites, Curse of the Birthmark will produce a new album sometime this year.

Fingeredmedia released their premiere compilation DVD this past summer with videos form Telepathe, Mazing Vids, Excepter, Jaws, Imaginary People, Ihrie Means, Ted Mcgrath and Julie Benoit. It’s definitely worth checking out.
