Tune into Radio Heart March 21st from 4-6pm for a show devoted to the work of new age musician and poet Joanna Brouk. For this show, I will rebroadcast a 1972 recording of an interview and performance by Brouk on Charles Amirkhanian’s radio program “Ode to Gravity” on KPFA, where she describes her compositional process and performs six of her works. (Episode sourced from the Other Minds Archive.) This will then be followed by excerpts from her cassette releases “Healing Music” from 1981 and “Sounds of the Sea” from 1990 on Hummingbird Productions, which have recently resurfaced and are now being distributed through Mimaroglu.
